June work and Falklands Memorial event

June has been quite busy for our team up at Sunderland.

Dave and Roy have been spending a lot of time inside the aircraft working on preparing the forward cabin. They have been replacing damaged areas of the ceiling with new panels, and they have also been painting various areas in the authentic colours used by Northeast Airlines (and BKS Airlines – their former guise). It is really starting to come along, as you can see in the pictures.

Over this weekend (2nd and 3rd June), there has been a Falklands Memorial event at the North East Aircraft Museum. Alongside all the excellent exhibits and events, we took the opportunity to put out a stall showing pictures from the progress so far with the Save The Trident project.

We also ran a raffle over the weekend, with the top prize of a flight in a light aircraft with team member Matt Falcus.

For those of you who bought tickets, we can announce that the draw was done at 3pm on Sunday 3rd, and the winner is Margaret Jones, with ticket number 82. Congratulations!

We thank everyone who bought a ticket. All money goes towards the restoration of the aircraft, with the prize itself being sponsored. If you would still like to donate, please click here.

Here are some photos from the weekend’s work and event.
